On January 25th, Shandong Radio and Television Station's "SDTV-1" broadcast the grand event announcing the release of Shandong Province's Top Ten Scientific and Technological Innovation Achievements for 2025. Prior to this, on January 16th, a release event was held in Jinan, where Dawn Polymer's high gas barrier dynamic vulcanizate alloy material (DVA) for tires was selected. Song Junji, then Vice Governor of Shandong Province, attended the event and presented certificates and commemorative plaques to representatives of the scientific and technological innovation achievements.

The ten selected scientific and technological innovation achievements were rigorously screened and voted on by more than 60 academicians and experts from both inside and outside the province from the provincial major scientific and technological innovation achievement database. They cover multiple fields such as basic research, new-generation information technology, high-end equipment, and artificial intelligence, and represent the latest achievements and highest level of scientific and technological innovation in Shandong.

At the event, six academicians, including Li Huajun, Tang Bo, Liu Jianya, Liang Zuotang, Yu Zhiming, and Zhang Youming, unveiled the top ten scientific and technological innovation achievements in Shandong Province in 2025. Representatives of the selected teams and academicians and experts presented their achievements, showcasing the spirit of scientists and the unique charm of scientific and technological achievements in all aspects.

According to reports, Dawn Polymer, in collaboration with Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Linglong Tire, and other institutions, has successfully developed a new type of DVA material for tires after 17 years of research and development, overcoming key technologies such as cross-linked dynamic vulcanization and composite film preparation, and achieving mass production. The material's airtightness is 7-10 times that of traditional vulcanized butyl rubber, simultaneously improving tire pressure retention and pressure durability by 50%, reducing the thickness and weight of the airtight layer by 60%, and resulting in a weight reduction of approximately 1 kg per tire. It meets the urgent needs of fuel-efficient vehicles and extended range for new energy vehicles.

Dawn Polymer broke the foreign technology monopoly and became the second company in the world to achieve mass production of DVA materials, marking that Chinese high-end tire barrier materials have reached the international leading level. Currently, this achievement has been widely applied in various tire specifications from downstream companies such as Linglong Tire. It is projected to generate an annual output value of 1 billion yuan within two years, driving nearly 10 billion yuan in output value across upstream and downstream industries, and propelling the rapid development of tire industry in China.

It is understood that since the launch of the "Shandong Outstanding Achievements" major scientific and technological achievements release program in July 2023, it has attracted the participation of more than 1,000 universities, research institutes, investment institutions and key enterprises from both inside and outside the province, collected 1,154 achievements into the database, reached more than 150 cooperation intentions, and obtained investment and signed orders exceeding 425 million yuan.
