On December 24th, at the 2025 Science and Technology Awards Conference of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation held in Beijing, the projects "Development and Industrialization of Key Technologies for Green Fully Biodegradable Mulch Film Special Materials" jointly completed by Dawn Polymer and Dawn Polyester Co., Ltd., and "Construction of Core International Standard System for Polyamide and Breakthrough and Application of Key Technologies for Composite Materials" jointly completed by Dawn Polymer and Zhonglan Chenguang Chengdu Testing Technology Co., Ltd., won the third prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award, reflecting the industry's recognition of Dawn's innovation capabilities.

Dr. Hao Yanping was the first author of the project "Development and Industrialization of Key Technologies for Green Fully Biodegradable Mulch Film Materials."According to reports, the award-winning green, fully biodegradable mulch film material provides an effective solution to the white pollution caused by traditional plastic mulch films in farmland. The successful development and industrialization of this technology marks a significant advancement in Chinese agricultural environmental protection materials field.

Polyamide is a key supporting material for the development of the national economy, especially the "new three items". In the process of technological innovation and application promotion of this project, Dawn Polymer has leveraged its scientific research platform advantages to form a full-chain R&D capability from formula design and process verification to mass production transformation. It has applied for two patents and developed a series of modified PA products with both high strength and heat resistance, which have been successfully applied in the fields of automotive lightweighting, smart devices, electronic communications, and home appliances.

According to reports, the project has established a unified quality evaluation system for polyamide materials, providing strong technical support for polyamide production, trade, and testing. Currently, the project has released two international standards, forming a globally recognized core international standard system for polyamide. It effectively breaks down the technological barriers that hinder polyamide exports, helps to gain international influence in key manufacturing materials, alleviates the overcapacity and supply-demand imbalance in the domestic polyamide market, and promotes high-quality development of export trade.

Against the backdrop of a reshaping global energy landscape, a deepening of "Carbon Peak and carbon Neutrality" goals, and intensified industrial competition, the petroleum and chemical industry needs stronger technological innovation capabilities than ever before. In his keynote speech, Li Yunpeng, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, pointed out that it was necessary to focus on basic research and pilot-scale development to solidify the foundation for technological self-reliance; to promote the deep integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation to help develop new types of productive forces; and to build a new ecosystem of deep integration of industry, academia, and research to comprehensively enhance the industry's independent innovation capabilities.

At the conference, Zhang Liqun, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Xi'an Jiaotong University, combined the requirements of the times with industry development trends, hoping that young scientists would keep in mind the "greater national interest" and integrate their personal interests into the tide of the times. He encouraged everyone to maintain their curiosity and exploration of basic science and fundamental human questions while serving the needs of the country.
