At the beginning of 2021, Dawn polymer received a thanks letter from the Ministry of Science and Technology. This is another national level thanks letter since Dawn Polymer received the thanks letter from the State Council last year.

The letter said, “2020 was an extraordinary year. The COVID-19 broke out and the epidemic raged. In accordance with the decisions and deployment of the Party’s Central Committee and the State Council, the Ministry of Science and Technology, in conjunction with 12 departments, set up research teams and expert groups to mobilize the national science and technology system to fight COVID19. " The effect of scientific research was inseparable from the participation and support of your company. Here, we would like to express heartfelt thanks for your work and efforts in participating in the epidemic prevention and control emergency scientific research project". The thanks-letter expresses gratitude for the contributions made by Dawn people in undertaking emergency research and development projects, and at the same time encourages enterprises to make greater breakthroughs in scientific research. As early as March 18th in 2020, a letter of thanks from the State Council made Dawn polymer on the "hot search".

What contribution did Dawn make during the Covid-19? According to Dr. Tian Hongchi,  General Manager of Dawn polymer, masks continued to be in an emergency shortage at the beginning of the epidemic outbreak last year. As a key guarantee enterprise for the prevention and control of COVID19, the compiler of the national standard for "Plastic Polypropylene (PP) Melt-Blown Special Materials", and an important domestic manufacturer of polypropylene melt blown materials for mask fabric, Dawn polymer started production from the second day of Chinese New Year (January 26th). We had been working hard to speed up the production of special melt blown pp materials for masks." “According to the situation of COVID-19’s continuous spread, we gave full play to the advantages of R&D and technology as well as the smooth emergency response mechanism to rapidly increase production capacity, so as to meet the production needs of domestic and foreign epidemic prevention materials maximally". In addition to supplying special melt blown polypropylene material for masks fabrics in quality and quantity, Dawn also cooperated with Beijing University of Chemical Technology to tackle the key problems and undertake the emergency research and development of the Ministry of Science and Technology project of "Key Technologies and Industrialization of Reusable Protective Masks". On February 28th, the project was established as a key special project of the national key R and D plan " Risk Prevention & Control and Emergency Technology & Equipment For Public Security", and then the research forces to launch scientific and technological research were quickly organized.

The key technologies and industrialization of reusable civilian masks were not only for the present, but also for the future, and it can support the strategic storage of key epidemic prevention materials such as masks by public health and safety agencies in the future. Zhang Liqun is the Vice President of Beijing University of Chemical Technology and Professor of advanced Elastomer Materials Research Center. The Center worked closely together with Dr. Tian Hongchi and the team of Dawn polymer to tackle the key problems and quickly achieved technological breakthroughs.

"It is very effective and quick if we spend 1 or 2 years to make a technology industrialized. But in this fight against the epidemic, everyone was racing against the time to work and cooperate with each other, very soon creating miracles and enabling our new technology to provide the guarantee against the epidemic." said Lu YongLai, Director of the Advanced Elastomer Materials Research Center of Beijing University of Chemical Technology.

Beijing TV(BTV): Reusable civilian masks will achieve mass production soon

“Under the current epidemic situation, we must be cautious and continue to work hard to normalize epidemic prevention and control scientific research together”. The request of thanks letter is the direction of Dawn's efforts. Tian Hongchi, General Manager of Dawn Polymer, said, “The letter of thanks from the Ministry of Science and Technology proved Dawn’s strong R&D strength, rapid emergency response mechanism, and responsibility for the country and family. For Dawn people, it was a great inspiration and motivation”. In the next step, Dawn polymer will take aim at the forefront of the world science and technology, develop higher-performance key technologies for protective mask materials, and contribute "Dawn Power" to the epidemic prevention & control and public health risk prevention.
