For many years, Chen Wenquan has always rooted in scientific research and dedicated to the R&D, production, and after-sales service of thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPV) materials. As the main R&D personnel of the scientific and technological innovation team, Chen Wenquan participated in the construction of high-performance thermoplastic vulcanized rubber production line, and organized the development of a variety of TPV materials with leading domestic and global technology. In the research and development of peroxide cross-linked TPV, he overcame numerous difficulties, broke the original material drawbacks, and successfully developed a peroxide cross-linked TPV with superior performance, which achieved industrialization and the goal of product recyclability, energy saving, and environmental protection. At present, Dawn TPV has a market share of more than 20% in China.

During the COVID-19, Chen Wenquan, as a key R&D staff member, participated in the "Key Technology and Industrialization of Reusable Protective Masks" by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the emergency research and development projects such as the special project of Beijing Municipal Commission of Science and Technology for the anti-COVID-19 infection technology" preparation technology and industrialization of melt-blown polypropylene materials that can be stored for a long time and be used for multiple times". At the same time, he participated in the drafting of the "Reusable non-medical Masks" group standard, upgraded disposable medical masks to reusable masks, alleviated the "mask shortage" problem under the anti-epidemic situation, and made outstanding achievements for the strategic reserve of epidemic prevention materials in the post-epidemic era.

In terms of R&D and production technology, Chen Wenquan continues to build company’s core competitiveness and seize the commanding heights of market competition, which has achieved fruitfully over the years. He has applied for and obtained 12 authorized patents, published 12 papers including 2 SCI papers. He also won the second prize of Shandong Science and Technology Award, Excellence Award of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Patent Award, and Excellent Technology Workers of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and other honorary titles.
