On December 3rd, SDTV-1 focused on the research and development of Dawn Polymer's third-generation tire gas barrier (TPV) material, helping private enterprises to "strengthen the confidence, stabilize the economy, and promote the development," and accelerate the cultivation of new quality productivity by moving towards "innovation."
"The tire next to me has an air barrier layer that is only one-third the thickness of a traditional tire, which reduces the car's energy consumption by 5%. And the driving force behind this green revolution is this new elastomer material in my hand," reporter Zhang Xinyu introduced at the Dawn New Materials Exhibition Center.

Chen Wenquan, deputy chief engineer of Dawn Polymer, said, "Its gas barrier properties are 7 to 10 times that of traditional brominated butyl. It only requires one-third to one-half the thickness of traditional materials to achieve better gas barrier properties. The overall weight of the tire can be reduced by nearly 10%, which reduces rolling resistance and energy consumption."

Tian Hongchi, general manager of Dawn Polymer, said, "Overseas countries need to change their tire molding process, resulting in low finished product qualification rates. Later, market-oriented production was also stopped. Dawn assessed the equipment capabilities and worked backward to determine what properties the materials should have. Tire factories can achieve its application without major upgrades and modifications, while overseas countries have not yet reached this level."
As a major domestic manufacturing base for new polymer materials, Dawn has developed 20 categories of green new materials, including thermoplastic elastomers and biodegradable materials, covering multiple fields such as automobiles, home appliances, and sports and leisure, promoting the green development of traditional industries. Currently, Yantai City has established 88 provincial-level or above green factories, 19 green supply chain management enterprises, and 12 green industrial parks.
