On the morning of September 1, the first day of the new semester, the south gate of Longkou Beizao School, which was donated and built by the Dawn Group, was completed and put into use.
Originally a school for the children of Beizao Coal Mine employees, the school had only a north gate serving the mine’s residential compound. After being transferred to Longkou’s administration in 2008, it began enrolling students from the public. To adapt to this change and ease traffic congestion, a temporary south gate was opened, but problems like the unpaved dirt road outside, the dilapidated gate, and the lack of a guardroom had long troubled the school.
In 2024, Dawn Group invested over 9 million yuan to rebuild the road outside the south gate, resolving a major concern for teachers, students, and parents. The revamped road now features new parking lots, green belts, streetlights, and surveillance cameras, with a height limit bar added at the west intersection to block overheight and overloaded vehicles—making drop-offs and pick-ups safer and more convenient while upgrading the surrounding environment.
This summer break, Dawn Group further invested 100,000 yuan to renovate the south gate and build a guardroom. “We didn’t build this road and gate for show,” said Yu Xiaoning, Chairman and President of Dawn Group. “We want kids to walk on a smooth road and enter campus through a safe gate every day.” The gate is designed like an open book, symbolizing children stepping into a broader ocean of knowledge with the scent of books.
Xie Yuhui, the school principal, noted: “Dawn’s kindness not only facilitates safe travel for our teachers and students but also enhances the school’s image and expands its development space. We will turn this care into motivation for teaching, improve educational quality, nurture more talents, and live up to the expectations by running education that satisfies the people.
As a local original private enterprise in Longkou, Dawn Group has actively engaged in public welfare initiatives such as education funding and rural revitalization for over 30 years, with cumulative investment exceeding 100 million yuan. An official from Longkou Municipal Bureau of Education and Sports stated, “Dawn Group cares about people’s livelihoods, proactively addresses small yet practical education-related issues, and sets an exemplary model of giving back to society and caring for education. We will devote ourselves to all work in the new semester with greater enthusiasm and firmer conviction, and jointly write a new chapter in Longkou’s education development.”
