On October 14th, 2024, the 55th World Standards Day began as scheduled. The themes, “Shared Vision for a Better World” globally and “Strengthening the Standards to Promote High-Quality Development” in China, highlight the crucial role of standards in improving product quality, driving technological innovation, realizing a better vision, and fostering healthy development.
As an original private enterprise, Dawn Group has continuously explored and innovated in core technology fields for over 30 years, frequently breaking industrial barriers. Up to now, Dawn Group has led or participated in the formulation and revision of more than 80 international, national, industrial, and group standards. Notably, in the past decade, Dawn has contributed to the publication of seven international standards, with six more currently under development, strongly positioning the company to become an industrial leader.
Reviewing Dawn's "report card" on its participation in standard formulation and revision reveals achievements across various fields, including polymer new materials and titanium dioxide. A few days ago, the national technical committee 15 on plastics of standardization administration of China (TC15) held a national standards review meeting in Guizhou, where Dawn Polymer participated as a committee representative. Alongside Qingdao Rich Material Co., Ltd also attended as a drafting representative to support the development of the recycled plastics industry. Currently, Dawn has 5 experts serving as committee members in 8 national standard committees or subcommittees, involving in the formulation, revision, and review of standards in areas such as plastic resins, modified plastics, rubber and its products, degradable plastics, carbon neutrality, and microplastics.
Years of involvement in standardization work always come with both challenges and anticipation. Reflecting on the development process of the international standard "Plastics—Polystyrene Molding and Extrusion Materials—Part 2: Preparation and Testing of Specimens," the relevant personnel at Dawn Polymer still feel a deep sense of emotion. In 2018, they went to Japan with the Chinese delegation to attend the international standards review meeting, followed by the final draft defense in 2019, and the standard was officially published in 2020. "It was like the birth of a long-awaited baby, bringing the team immense joy and pride."

Empowering green and low-carbon development through standardization reflects Dawn’s ecological philosophy. As a national high-tech enterprise, Dawn Titanium Industry Company has demonstrated strong technological innovation capabilities, ranking among the top in the industry. Serving as the primary drafting unit, Dawn Titanium Industry Company led the revision of the national standard "Limits of Energy Consumption per Unit Product of Titanium Dioxide and Iron Oxide Pigments," which will take effect on May 1st, 2025. Recognized as a national-level green factory model enterprise, Dawn Titanium Industry Company was awarded for its green design products and led the formulation of the industrial standard "Evaluation Requirements for Green Factories in the Titanium Dioxide Industry."
"Top enterprises set standards" is the relentless pursuit of Dawn. Over 10 companies under Dawn Group actively participate in the formulation and revision of industrial standards, not only setting high standards for themselves but also striving to be pioneers leading the industry. From R&D and design to production and manufacturing, from quality control to market promotion, Dawn infuses the power of standards in every aspect. Under the guidance of standards, several core products such as high-performance thermoplastic elastomers (TPV) and hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) have entered the international competitive stage, enhancing Dawn's influence on the global stage.
How can standards be effectively utilized as a "guiding baton"? This year's State Council “Government Work Report” emphasized the need to strengthen standards leadership and quality support to create more internationally influential "Made in China" brands. Shandong Province also explicitly stated the goal to "promote the strategic synergy between standardization and technological innovation." In the future, Dawn will actively participate in the formulation and revision of more standards, adhere to the principles of "standards as the measure, quality as the foundation, innovation as the essence, and brand as the king.", be committed to creating high-quality products that meet standards, promote high-quality corporate development, and advance toward the vision of "leading the industrial trends, building a national brand, and achieving a centurial Dawn."
