A few days ago, the donation ceremony of Dawn Group to the Education Foundation of Beijing University of Chemical Technology was held at Dawn Polymer located in Longkou New Material Science and Technology Industrial Park. This was another donation of 10 million yuan of Dawn Group following the 10 million yuan donation in 2017, further demonstrating the responsibility of private enterprises and supporting the development of school education.

The donation ceremony was attended by Liu Guiqin, Secretary of the Party Committee of BUCT; Zhang Shaopeng, Deputy Secretary of the Longkou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor; Zhao Jing, Deputy Mayor; Yu Xiaoning, Chairman and President of Dawn Group; Song Huidong and Qiu Huanling, Vice Presidents, and Yu Zhengyu, Assistant to the President. The signing ceremony was witnessed by the relevant leaders from BUCT and People’s Government of Longkou city, the heads of relevant functional departments and business units of Dawn Group and the head of the Thermoplastic Elastomer Sub-council of the China Synthetic Rubber Industry Association.

After everyone watched the short video titled "Join Hands to Draw a Prosperous Picture of Industry-University-Research-Application", Chairman Yu Xiaoning introduced the company's development profile and technological innovation, reviewed the process and achievements of the school-enterprise cooperation between them, and expressed gratitude to the school for its long-term concern and support for Dawn and to Academician Zhang Liqun's team for their technological empowerment. "We donates another 10 million yuan to Beijing University of Chemical Technology to support the school's educational development, promote the construction of 'Innovative Beijing University of Chemical Technology', and jointly make new and greater contributions to the construction of a strong country and the great cause of national rejuvenation."

Mayor Zhang Shaopeng said that in recent years, Longkou City had implemented the innovation-driven development strategy in depth and vigorously promoted collaborative innovation based on industry-university-research cooperation. The long-term close cooperation between Dawn Group and Beijing University of Chemical Technology has been a model of university-enterprise cooperation. During the critical period of Longkou City's "comprehensive leadership and leapfrogging", especially with the development and construction of major parks such as Dawn New Materials Technology Industrial Park, there is an urgent need to carry out industry-university-research cooperation with high-level universities such as Beijing University of Chemical Technology to achieve development by leveraging momentum, wisdom and strength.

Professor Tian Ming, Director of the Advanced Elastomer Research Center at BUCT, remarked, "The research team led by Academician Zhang Liqun has collaborated with Dawn Group for over 20 years. As a deeply involved participant, I have witnessed every detail of the journey from the initial quiet efforts to today's flourishing achievements." He also introduced the cooperation between them in the education chain, innovation chain, and industrial chain, and expressed gratitude for Dawn Group's donations and establishment of special scholarships over the years. He stated that they would continue to work together for mutual benefit and promote the integrated and high-quality training of science and technology education talents.

After the ceremony, Secretary Liu Guiqin and the delegation visited the headquarters of Dawn Group, the Red Gene Education Base, and the industrial park.
