On October 6th, with the official production launch of the "Ultramarine" project by Shandong Longkou Shuanglong Chemical Co., Ltd., Dawn Group's Titanium Industry Division, a member of China's Top 500 Private Enterprises, achieved a significant milestone. The "Shuanglong" brand's Ultramarine, an old brand that has weathered numerous challenges over nearly half a century, is embarking on a new journey to add color to life. This move also represented an important step for Dawn Group in expanding its industrial sectors and creating distinctive industry clusters.
Ultramarine is the oldest and most vivid blue pigment, with a bright blue hue tinged with a hint of red. It is non-toxic, environmentally friendly, and falls under the category of inorganic pigments. Ultramarine products have an extremely wide range of uses: in coloring, they are used in blue paints, coatings, rubber, inks, oilcloth, painting, and exterior wall coatings in construction; in whitening, they are used in papermaking, soap and laundry detergents, starch, white products, and civilian wall painting, among others. It can be said that people's colorful lives are inseparable from ultramarine.
As the largest Ultramarine production base in China and the third-largest in the world, Shandong Longkou possesses excellent production infrastructure and a skilled workforce. Shuanglong Chemical, at one point, was akin to the "Huangpu Military Academy" for the Ultramarine industry in Longkou and even domestically. The "Shuanglong" brand of Ultramarine is a well-known brand in China, characterized by advanced production equipment, professional technical personnel, sophisticated production controls, and strict quality testing procedures, all ensuring the quality and stability of Ultramarine products. These products are exported to markets in Central and South Asia, Central America, South America, and Africa.
After the acquisition of Shuanglong Chemical by Dawn Group in February of 2023, the factory and equipment were updated and restructured, and new management and technical teams were established. The old factory has been rejuvenated and was expected to bring new competitiveness to Shuanglong Chemical and even the entire Dawn Industrial Park, providing strong support for consolidating the position of Longkou Ultramarine. After enduring the vicissitudes of time, Shuanglong Chemical, which once stood proudly at the peak of the industry in the past but also declined in the current of the times, will rise on the world stage in the future.
Shuanglong Chemical's General Manager, Chi Weiqi, stated, "After the formal production commencement of Shuanglong Chemical, we will continue to improve our production equipment and processes, attract top-notch management and technical talents, create higher-quality Ultramarine products." It is reported that, in addition to expanding its presence in both domestic and international markets, Shuanglong Chemical is preparing for capacity expansion. By the middle of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, it aims to increase its annual production capacity fivefold, with a determination to build a domestically leading and internationally first-class Ultramarine pigment manufacturing base.
The commencement of production at Shuanglong Chemical holds immense significance for the development of Dawn Group's titanium industry sector and the expansion of its future pigment business. Yu Xiaoning, Chairman and President of Dawn Group, expressed the hope that this event would serve as an opportunity to strengthen market development and technological research and development. This would rejuvenate the old brand, enabling it to lead the industry's development trends once again.
