On the eve of the sixth "National Scientific and Technological Workers Day", Yantai City announced the list of "The Most Beautiful Scientific and Technological Workers in Yantai City" in 2022, and Tian Hongchi, general manager and chief engineer of Dawn Polymer, was among them. It was reported that he was the only scientific and technological worker in Longkou City to get this honor.  

As an expert-type talent self-cultivated by Dawn, Tian Hongchi is the leader of rubber elastomer technology innovation in China. Over the years, he has led the research team to engage in the research of polymer materials such as high-performance thermoplastic elastomers, overcome a number of international technical problems, and made important contributions to the development of the Chinese rubber industry.

In 2003, Tian Hongchi graduated from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, after learning about Chinese demand for the rubber industry, gave up the opportunity to study overseas, and took the successful thermoplastic elastomer (TPV) technology that successfully developed in colleges and universities to Dawn to put into production. Due to the difficulty of technology, only a few countries can truly industrialize this technology. Tian Hongchi worked day and nightand overcame a number of technical research problems. In 2006, the first domestic TPV production line established by him was officially put into production, filling the urgent need in China, breaking the long-term dependence on imports for TPV materials in China, and leading Dawn to the fast track of high-speed development. In 2008, Tian Hongchi won the second prize of the National Technology Invention Award. 

In addition, Tian Hongchi also has in-depth research in the field of Hydrogenated nitrile rubber. Dawn has achieved industrialization in the field of hydrogenated nitrile rubber for ten years. During the project, Tian Hongchi paid a lot of effort to work with Dawn’s scientific research team, overcome this "neck-stuck" technology, and at the same time dominated the research and development of a series of new products and new processes. Under his leadership, Dawn has gradually developed into an important research force in the international polymer industry.

In the past 19 years, Tian Hongchi has deeply cultivated scientific research and achieved a series of international advanced scientific research results. He has undertaken more than 20 special projects of the National 973, the National "the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, the Twelfth Five-Year Plan" science and technology support plan, the national new material R&D and industrialization project, and successfully realized the industrialization; actively participated in the formulation of national, industrial, group and other standards, and won 6 of the second prize of national technology invention, provincial and ministerial science and technology progress award, technology invention award. He has won the "Top Ten Innovative Talents" in Yantai, the Middle-aged and young experts with outstanding contributions in Shandong Province, the leading talents of Taishan Industry, the youth science and technology award of the first national polymer materials science and engineering, the National Petroleum and Chemical Youth Science and Technology Outstanding Contribution Award, National Young Science and Technology Innovation Leadership Talents. In 2021, Tian Hongchi was elected as a foreign academician of the National Academy of Ukraine Engineering and became the first academician from private enterprises in Yantai city.

Tian Hongchi said that in the next step, he would lead the R&D team to deepen into the research work, continue to adhere to the development concept of "product-based, people-oriented, technology-led, and customer-first", deeply cultivate the field of polymer new materials, continuously develop new products and new technologies, and make more contributions to the industrial progress, the prosperity of the local economy, and the development of the national industry.
