On December 12th, the “Intellectual Convergence in Longkou·University-Driven Empowerment”2025 Industry-University-Research Cooperation Seminar was successfully held at the Donghai Science and Technology Incubation Industrial Park. Ren Zhongqi, Vice President of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and Li Wanping, Secretary of the Longkou Municipal Party Committee, attended the event and delivered speeches; municipal leaders Gai Qian and Cai De also participated in the event.

During the event, Yu Xiaoning, Chairman and President of Dawn Group, was elected as a member of the first council of the Yantai Research Institute of Beijing University of Chemical Technology; Chen Qingkui, Dean of Dawn Research Institute, was appointed as an expert of the Special Committee of the Yantai Research Institute of Beijing University of Chemical Technology and represented Dawn at the project signing ceremony. This marked a new stage of development in the cooperation between Longkou City and Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and Dawn's elements demonstrate scientific research innovation and social influence.



In August 2023, Yantai Research Institute of Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) held a signing and unveiling ceremony in Yantai, marking the beginning of BUCT's efforts to empower Yantai's innovative development and jointly writing a new chapter in the integration of university and local development. Secretary Li Wanping stated that Longkou City hoped to work with the university to develop the Yantai Research Institute of BUCT with Longkou characteristics and BUCT's unique features, allowing the industrial chain, talent chain, innovation chain, capital chain, and service chain to converge and create synergy here, allowing technology, capital, and ecosystem to integrate and empower each other, and striving to build it into the "preferred destination" for technology transfer, the "home" for researchers, and the "dreamland" for young students.
In his speech, Vice President Ren Zhongqi said that Beijing University of Chemical Technology and Longkou had highly compatible industrial layouts and broad prospects for cooperation. They will combine the actual situation of Longkou's industries with the advantages of the university, and focus on promoting in-depth and practical cooperation in three aspects: targeted research, platform building, and long-term linkage, so as to help Longkou become an important node for the transformation of scientific research achievements in the Shandong Peninsula and a new highland for industrial technology innovation.
As one of China's top 500 enterprises, Dawn Group focuses on the research, polymerization, production, sales, and application of new chemical materials. For over 20 years, it has collaborated with Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and leveraged their respective strengths to create a new integrated channel for production, education, research, and application. High-performance thermoplastic elastomers (TPV), hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR), and third-generation tire gas barrier materials (DVA) have been successfully commercialized. Currently, a large number of research projects are progressing steadily.



On December 13th, attendees visited and engaged in in-depth discussions at Dawn Polymer, demonstrating the shared desire of both the university and the company to deepen their cooperation and creating favorable conditions for the subsequent transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements. In the future, Dawn Group, relying on the Yantai Research Institute of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, will work hand in hand with its council members to focus on technological innovation, empower industrial upgrading, and lead the development of new high-quality productivity through the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation, jointly injecting strong new momentum into the high-quality development of the regional economy.
