On October 17th, the four-day 2023 National Polymer Academic Paper Reporting Conference ended in Wuhan, Hubei. This conference was co-sponsored by the Polymer Science Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, hosted by Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and co-organized by 12 Chinese universities. Academicians and experts gathered at the conference. More than 20 academicians and over 6,000 experts and scholars gathered together to exchange and discuss.

During the conference, Dawn Group made a wonderful appearance as a gold medal sponsor. The conference featured 22 themed sub-venues, providing a broad academic and technical exchange platform for science and technology, education, industrial workers and young students engaged in research and development in this field. Tian Hongchi, general manager of Dawn Polymer and foreign academician of the National Academy of Engineering of Ukraine, and Dr. Chen Jun, director of Qingdao R&D Center of Dawn Polymer, gave sharing reports, which enhanced Dawn's brand awareness and industry influence.

Academician Zhang Xi, chairman of the conference, pointed out that it was the unremitting pursuit to build a polymer powerhouse into a polymer superpower. Polymer science is not only a basic discipline full of innovation and creation of beauty, but also the support of the polymer industry. General Manager Tian Hongchi delivered a presentation titled "Opportunities and Challenges for Engineering Thermoplastic Elastomers in the Context of 'Carbon Neutrality and Emission Peak' at the branch meeting of the Polymer Frontier Technology Forum. Starting from Dawn's perspective, he introduced the opportunities and challenges for engineering thermoplastic elastomers in the process of achieving the "Carbon Neutrality and Emission Peak" goal. "With the increasing global attention to climate change, the 'Carbon Neutrality and Emission Peak' goal has been an important development direction across various industries, including the field of polymer science," he explained.

At the Porous Organic Polymers session, Director Chen Jun delivered a presentation on the topic of "Technology for Preparing Extruded Sheets of PLA/PP Using Supercritical Fluid Physical Foaming." He introduced the research and achievements in the development of the technology for extruding sheets using supercritical fluid physical foaming. He emphasized that this technology had a wide range of applications, including packaging, thermal insulation materials, and automotive parts.

"This conference provides a concentrated display of the recent research achievements and development trends in the field of polymer science and materials in China. It allows us to collectively explore many forward-looking and practical topics," said Chen Qingkui, the Director of the Dawn Research Institute, during an interview. He emphasized that the conference fostered a better understanding and contemplation about the future of polymer materials within the industry, which would certainly drive the transformation of scientific achievements in polymer materials and support the advancement of academic research in this field, as well as the healthy development of the industry.
